ASC — No Time for Never
To motivate Australians to play team sport, the Australian Sports Commission usually wheels out their celebrity athletes.
Instead, this 2-minute web film introduced some lesser-known sporting legends, including an 87-year-old shot put champion and a hockey team of gung-ho grannies.
They show us that anyone can benefit from the fun, fitness and friendship of team sport, regardless of age or ability.
The film inspired people of all ages, challenging them to drop their excuses. Many of them used the video to challenge their friends and family members to get active, sharing it with them on social media. This meant that despite having a budget of only AU$28,000, we ended up reaching more than 2.28 million people, attracting over 1.5 million views and increasing the ASC’s Facebook fans by 756%.
